The aesthetic research of Studio Archea Associati from Florence finds, by using the Cotto from Impruneta as wall cladding, an original way to increase the simple volume of this building.
The new volume keeps a physical distance around all sides of the existing construction. Completely transparent, it is screened from the natural light by a shell of terracotta in 40x40 cm, carmine red glazed, with a load-bearing structure in paired steel section bars. The elements of glazed Cotto, as book pages, vibrate and change their chromatic reflections according to luminous radiation, making the structure modern and shielding it from the natural light.
