Supply and installation of a “curtain wall” cladding, composed of a mechanical steel fixing system and Sannini Impruneta
terracotta elements, acid-washed and treated:
Primary structure constituted of vertical sections in stainless steel AISI 304 placed at 50 cm distances approximately.
Sections are bound to the support slabs and fixed to the wall by means of special straps and expansion bolts equipped
with adjustable spacers and anchors for the fastening of the cotto elements.
The cladding is realized with cotto element “piastra 50 mm multi false joints”, manufactured out of a special clay extracted
from the Impruneta area. The elements are supplied in sizes of (l x h x t): 500x295x50 mm. They have normal kerfs on their
upper and lower edge, and an angle kerf on their reverse side. Profile with “false joints” of 1x1 cm at 1 cm distances and
surface texture “litos” or “arrotato”. Installation with vertical and horizontal joints of about 6 mm. The cotto elements are to
be installed carefully in order to avoid possible out of square placement, and to provide compensation for any defects in
the existing backup wall or reinforced concrete structure, leaving a space of about 8/10 cm between the back face of the
cladding elements and the support wall.
Treatment: the external face of the Sannini cotto element requires acid-washing using a decalcifying acid detergent for
the removal of possible efflorescences and surface protection through the application of an impregnation on a siloxane
micro-emulsion basis. |
